In the year 2000 and 2001 I went to Bulgaria traveling throughout the country preaching the Gospel. One day in the lobby of a large building I was introduced to an elderly lady. She looked like an ordinary older person until I asked her how she met Jesus.
She had steel blue eyes and as she began to talk, her eyes were so bright and her face seemed radiant. Her skin was like leather from working in the hot sun.
“I live to win souls”
The very first words to me were, “I live to win souls!” She said she was sixty years old when she met Jesus. She told me both her husband and son died on the same day. He son drowned in the Danube and her husband had a heart attack. She had a vision of her husband and his destination was hell. Then Jesus appeared to her and He has her son safely in His arms. She said, that day I gave my faith and heart to Jesus Christ.
I found out that this dear woman had planted 10 churches in the 9 years she had followed Jesus. At the time she fasted three days every week. Not as a spiritual exercise, but so she would have enough money to visit these churches. A personal encounter with Jesus always makes a difference.
