2 Corinthians 3: 3 You are a letter of Christ issued by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God; not on tables of stone, but on tables of flesh of the heart.
An example of love.
When the missionary Rafael Hiatt was just a child, his mother took him, along with his brothers, to the port of the city. In that place, they preached the gospel to people immersed in vices, like alcohol and so on. Everyone who came out of a mud wandered lost from one side to another, was impacted by the love of God through that family. In many opportunities, Rafael finished, next to his mother, kneeling in those dark streets next to a surrendered person who gave his heart to Christ. However, many reproached the mother saying: "You must not bring a child to these places. You will create a trauma, they will leave marks "And of course they left marks! Rafael could never leave a needy person aside anymore.
With the example of Jesus, the first apostles began their active ministry through the streets, reaching the most needy. Then Paul continued the work and reached many more lives. Today is our turn.
Observe.
It is necessary that we raise our eyes. Maybe leave aside for a moment the thoughts that flood us about our problems and pressures and observe how our family is, the ones we love the most. Or else people who cross the road. ¿Have you ever seen a person crying on the street, or with a face of deep concern?
Are you paying attention to your family? When you meet your friends, ¿are there only superficial conversations? Try to pay attention and you will be surprised at the value that the people next to you have.
Getting closer.
It is useless to look with compassion on a hungry person if we are not willing to approach him to give him something to eat. If you were in his place, ¿how would you feel? It is good sometimes to break through the barriers of shyness and get close, just like Jesus, to the need.
Matthew 7:12 So, whatever you want men to do to you, do also with them; because this is the law and the prophets.
Just a moment of quality with your mother, your son, your brother. Maybe delivering a treaty, a flyer who accompanies you on the train, can leave traces at the right time.
Leave a footprint.
We can go through life inadvertently or we can choose to leave footprints in our generation. The apostle Paul reminds the members of the Corinthian church that he was a true instrument of God for them. The Lord, through Paul, wrote a new story in those men. He marked them forever.
Luke 10: 30-37
30 Jesus answered and said, A man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and he fell among robbers, who stripped him; and wounding him, they left, leaving him half dead.
31 And it came to pass that a priest came down that way, and when he saw him, he passed by.
32 Likewise a Levite, coming near that place, and seeing him, passed by.
33 But a Samaritan, who was on his way, came near him, and when he saw him, he was moved with mercy;
34 And approaching, he bound up his wounds, pouring oil and wine on them; and putting him on his mount, he took him to the inn, and took care of him.
35 On another day, when he departed, he took out two denarii, and gave them to the innkeeper, and said to him, Take care of him; and everything you spend more, I'll pay you when you return.
36 Who then of these three do you think was the neighbor of the one who fell into the hands of the thieves?
37 He said: He who used mercy on him. Then Jesus said to him: Go, and do the same.
Acts 28: 7-9
7 In those places there were properties of the main man of the island, called Publius, who received us and entertained us for three days.
8 And it happened that Publius's father was in bed, sick with fever and dysentery; And Paul entered to see him, and having prayed, laid his hands on him, and healed him.
9 This done, also the others who on the island had illnesses, came, and were healed;
Christ calls us to be like Him, to attend to the need. We too, through the Holy Spirit, can leave traces, marks of Christ in the people around us. It is time to write a message of love in the heart in need. Focus on those around us and discover their need. If we cheer up, we should approach, without doubt, ¡we will leave traces in his heart!
