and you know me.You know when I sit and when I rise;
you perceive my thoughts from afar.
You discern my going out and my lying down; you are familiar with all my ways.
Before a word is on my tongue
you, LORD, know it completely.You hem me in behind and before,
and you lay your hand upon me.
Such knowledge is too wonderful for me,
too lofty for me to attain.
Where can I go from your Spirit?
Where can I flee from your presence?
It stretches out the fullness of its wings and rides with the current, surrendering to that invisible force.
Lately i've come to recognize my Christian walk is like that of the bird. When i strive to follow my own will and desires, I struggle like the bird against the wind. It's not impossible to reach the worldly goals, but oh, how painful and futile, when i find that what I wanted has cost me so much of my strength.
Yet, when i surrender to the power of my Lord's perfect will, I become like a bird gliding on God's strength. I stretch out my wings: my paths become straight and easy to follow; my spirit is renewed and the Lord's blessings flow beyond my ability to comprehend!.
The word of the Lord holds true, no matter how strong we think we can go it on our own; "even youths shall faint and be weary, and young men shall fall exhausted; but they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.
They That Wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength.
Isaiah Chapter 40 Verses 30 - 31
Even youths grow tired and weary,
and young men stumble and fall;
but those who hope in the LORD
will renew their strength.
They will soar on wings like eagles;
they will run and not grow weary,
they will walk and not be faint.
