Beloved what we are seeing to day, the rebellion and repercussions against God and everything which do not conform with Christian teachings have ever happened before, they were happening from ancient of days. The practices of gay and lesbianism were there during the time of Sodom and Ghomoriah, it was over practised, God warned them but they did not listened that led God set fire to destroy every creature in that communities.
I want to draw your attention to one bad practice which was there in Ancient days, and now eating deep in our Christianity or Christian fellowship and in Churches. And that is "corruption." It had been in existence for so long and if we don't find means of curbing or mimizing, it will get to a time that most of faithful Christians would even be diverted. We remember the story of Jacob and Esau. Their Mother made Jacob corrupted Esau to receive all the blessings from the Father(Isaac). Jacob was made to portray as if he was Esau. And at end, all blessings were diverted for Jacob instead for Esau who was due for:
Genesis 27:19 (NIV)
"Jacob said to his father, “I am Esau your firstborn. I have done as you told me. Please sit up and eat some of my game, so that you may give me your blessing.”
This corruption which was there in the Ancient days has also enter the church members and other Christian organisations. In some of our Churches in the World, Leaders such as Ministers, Pastors, Stewards, Evangelism team and other leaders to head various organization in the Church are appointed or elected. Through the appointment or election, those who are due for the position are sometimes corrupted, and various positions are diverted for other people else. This creates whole lots of issues between members and leaders in the Church to lose trust for each other.
There is the need to eradicate this canker as Christian bodies who have one common faith proclaiming for unbelievers to accept and worship God. If the Unbelievers in the World are practising corruption and we Christians who hold the truth and speak the truth about corruption are also involving ourselves in such act, then who will save the other? Let all be vigilant of what we do as Christians!
