John 2:23-25
23While He was in Jerusalem at the Passover Feast, many people saw the signs He was doing and believed in His name. 24But Jesus did not entrust Himself to them, for He knew all men. 25He did not need any testimony about man, for He knew what was in a man.
Every talent, project, vision or life needs funds and the right people. God's method also as it is said is people. So people are very important to every individual or institution. If God needs people then you need people, companies need people, businesses need people. Everybody needs somebody that is for sure.
But in the scripture above when you interpret it incorrectly you may think Jesus Christ never valued people or he never so them as important to his ministry, but that is wrong. Christ knew the value of each soul leave alone people as a human race. Remember he left everything he was and he had in heaven to come and live a humble life, limited and eventually to die for the sins of man.
How could do all that if he never valued man, He know the value of man more than man himself. He said he will leave the 99 for one soul, he said God will never allow even an hair to off our heads without his notice, he said he will not destroy the weak, he entrusted man with so much and so valued pearls of the kingdom of God. He treated men and women equally, rich and poor, sinners and saints, elites and ordinary people the same.
Yet he never compromised with any effort to sway him from his purpose and his destiny. He rebuked Peter we read in the scripture, he told him go behind me Satan because what you think is not of God. Peter loved Christ with a great passion and Christ was aware of Peter's love, still he rebuked him.
What do we learn from this?
We should always know that people are important to God, not only that but also people are God's answer to us, we need God more, that's true. But God uses people to meet our needs. Nevertheless we should always be careful that nobody distract us from our destiny in Christ. Nobody stops us from fulfilling our divine assignment and more important we should always entrust our life to God who never lies and never fails. God with no weakness unlike human nature is weak.
Not matter what you have done, what you can do and what you have, God is our source, he is our focus, and our destiny. Ignored people's praise, if you have not made it to heaven you have achieved nothing.
