CHILDREN ARE BLESSINGS
David the Psalmist said: "Children are an heritage of the LORD: and the fruit of the womb is His reward. As arrows are in the hand of a mighty man; so are children of the youth. Happy is the man that hath his quiver full of them: they shall not be ashamed, but they shall speak with the enemies in the gate." (Psalms 127:3)
This tells us about the relevance of children in our world, the place of children in the society and the corresponding significance in the family.
Therefore, King Solomon will say in the book of Proverbs that you should train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old, he will not depart from it.
These gifts of God are those which brings joy. Little wonder He settles the childless woman in her home as a happy mother of children.
The scriptures also said that Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings, you ordain strength (and establish strongholds) against your enemies. Jesus in the New Testament admonished the people to see that they do not despise one the little ones (for their angels in heaven always seek the face of God.
And they brought young children to Jesus, that he should touch them: and his disciples rebuked those that brought them. But when Jesus saw it, He was much displeased, and said unto them, "Suffer the little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God. Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child, he shall not enter therein. And he took them up in his arms, put his hands upon them, and blessed them" (Mark 10)
The love the mother hen has for her chick is so immeasurable that during the period of unfavorable atmospheric conditions, she covers her chicks with her wings and make them enjoy the warmth therein in the time of low temperature. The mother hen sacrifices her life for her chicks by giving everything she has, she ensures that her chicks gains satisfaction first before she begins to consume. This describes the love of the mother hen for the chicks.
It was because of this reason that Isaiah wrote:
Can a woman forget her sucking child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? yea, they may forget, yet will I not forget thee.
The book of Matthew gives a clearer picture of how God's sees children and why we must humble ourselves like them.
"And Jesus called a little child unto him, and set him in the midst of them, And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven. Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven. And whoso shall receive one such little child in my name receiveth me. But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea" (Matt 18:2-6)
Behold the manner of love that the Father has bestowed upon us that we should be called the Sons and Daughters of God. Hence, we must live in love and inspire others through our positive actions and fraternal living.
Our children learn from the way we live our lives, we must train them in the way of light and love and help them maximize their gifts and talents for the development of our world at large. This is because they are the leaders of tomorrow.
We can educate them with motivational stories like that of Sniff and Scurry. They could participate in good games like Steemchurch Bingo. They mustn't be deprived of right to life, right to education, clothing, shelter and food. The future of crypto is contingent on them. Happiness is key.
