In the Bible, we have people who were worshippers. Acts 18.7. Justus was a worshipper; Wise men from the east were worshippers. Speaking in tongues is worshiping God in truth and in the spirit. Worshipping God in truth and in the spirit is also worshipping God with your heart. This is what Jesus seeks. It is beyond just written songs in the hymn books.
When you worship God, he inhabitants you.
Dimensions of worship.
Lifting up hands (Express obedience, thanks giving). 1 Timothy 2.8, Hebrews 12:12.
Worshipping healing down (Philippians 2.10).
- Singing songs( Revelation 5.9-13, 2 Chro 20.21-22, Exodus 15.1-21)
- Laying down on your face (Rev 5.8).
- Quiet reflective and tender dimension of worship (Psalms 104-34). This is fully surrender/ meditation.
Why do we worship God.
- Because he is the only one who lives forever and ever. Rev 4.10.
- It is thanks giving. Luke 17.16.
- He is the one who created heaven and earth. Revelation 14.7.
Time spent on something is worship.
Worship opens heavens. It is only for God.
Worship is also prayer. A good worshipper is a good intercessor or prayer warrior.
