It is good both to hope and wait quietly for the salvation of the Lord.
text:Lamentations 3:25-27
25 Good is Jehovah to the one hoping in him, to the person who keeps seeking him. 26 Good it is to wait in silence for the salvation of Jehovah. 27 Good it is for a man to carry the yoke during his youth
You may have heard over and over again that God is good and that all His promises can be trusted, but have you ever had a personal encounter that made this so real to you?The bible tells of an Israeli family in the book of Ruth; a man named Elimelech, his wife Naomi and their two sons who lived in the land of Bethlehem in Judah.
There are times when God plants us somewhere and it is not rosy at all. Like this Israeli family that left a place of divine promise and went in search of greener pastures. The land of Moab may have been so attractive at the time but they could not see that it also had the capacity to terminate the future. In that supposedly good land of Moab all the male seed of this family died. When Naomi eventually returns to Bethlehem, she returns not only as a widow but also as a childless woman.
Maybe like Elimelech and his family you have left a purposeful job because it is not paying as much as you desire for now, or you have left or intend to leave a great relationship because there is no much to write home about for now. l want you to know one thing for sure that if God Has planted you in that place, no matter how bleak the future may look for you now; God will always visit you once again like he revisited Bethlehem and gave them an abundance of bread. This family forgot that the God who has promised is But how can we deal with the evil of gossip and idle words? Confrontation is just what the situation demands. In Matthew l8:15, jesus commanded us, "lf your brother sins against you, go and show him his fault, just between the two of you". If he does not listen, we are to approach him again with one or two others, hoping to find reconciliation. If he will not listen to them we are to bring it to the church. By the same token jesus tells us to confront the brother who bears some grudge against us
text:Matthew 5:24
leave your gift there in front of the altar, and go away. First make your peace with your brother, and then come back and offer your gift
If we are to avoid the destruction of slander we must be "up front" with one another, earnestly seeking to resolve our differences.
This is not an easy thing because it means that we are not right after all but like jesus recommends, it is a more excellent way..
