“There are genuinely sufficient resources in the world to ensure that no one, nowhere, at no time, should go hungry.” Ed Asner
The above quote is so true about what we can possibly do with what God has given us and what have been to achieve. There are countless people in our countries who are living in abject poverty, some suffering because of sickness, some because of disability and others of the economic hardship in their nation.
These folks need us to be able to move on in life. God can only touch their life through us.
When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory: And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divides his sheep from the goats; And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left. Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, you blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: For I was hungry, and you gave me food: I was thirsty, and you gave me drink: I was a stranger, and you took me in: Naked, and you clothed me: I was sick, and you visited me: I was in prison, and you came unto me. Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we you hungry, and fed you? or thirsty, and gave you drink? When saw we you a stranger, and took you in? or naked, and clothed you? Or when saw we you sick, or in prison, and came unto you? And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Since you have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, you have done it unto me. Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, you cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels: For I was hungry, and you gave me no food: I was thirsty, and you gave me no drink: I was a stranger, and you took me not in: naked, and you clothed me not: sick, and in prison, and you visited me not. Then shall they also answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we you hungry, or thirsty or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not minister unto you? Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, Since you did it not to one of the least of these, you did it not to me. And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal. Mathew 25:31-46
From this scripture Jesus wants us to know that attending to the needy is our responsibility. Everything we do for the less privilege is a way we show our love to God. People can only know and experience the love of God if we provide them shelter, food, clothing and money.
We are God's handiwork and He uses us to reach out to our fellows. God needs a physical hand to touch someone, He needs a leg to visit someone in need, eyes to see what they are experiencing and ears to listen to the cry of someone in need and that is you and I.
We can't hoard everything we have acquired to ourselves or refuse to help the needy for whatever we have today were giving freely by God.
Everything we own belongs to God and we are just stewards or caretakers. God loves it when we give cheerfully towards His work.
God loves a cheerful giver and whoever sows sparingly will reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously " 2 Corinthians 9:6-7
Let us use every opportunity to do good, reach out to thyeneedy our societies, neighborhood,, nation nation and God will surely bless us.
