The life of a Christian is a life of faith. The Christian race begins, runs-through and terminates with faith. The word believeth denotes the act and process of faith, the word faith occurs 247 times in the bible.
We do not get anything from through unbelief, faithlessness or hope. When the bible talks of substance of things hoped for, substance in this context means tangible, visible and touchable. We must express our faith in a manner that is truly palpable. Faith is also the down payment of the things desired (Hebrews 6:11-12), stimulus of Christianity (Hebrews 11:33), shield of Christian armour (Ephesians 6:16), and guarantee of answered prayer (Matthew 21:22)

The main text recounts the conversation between the father of a lunatic child and our lord Jesus Christ. In response to the request of the child’s father, “if thou can do anything, have compassion and help us”, Jesus point out that the “if thou can” is a responsibility that is expected from the child’s father and not from him. The saviour will always go as far as any mans faith can go. The kingdom rule states “Be it unto thee according to thy faith” (Matthew 9:29)

God by his divine power has the ability fulfil his promise, make grace abound, subdue the devil and heal the sick. All human needs can be obtained through faith in God.
In conclusion, we should believe the Lord in all circumstances of life. Against all odds, we should believe. In season and out of season, we should believe and we continue to believe, all things are possible to him that believeth and every challenge of life will fizzle out in the face of real faith in the Lord.
