Have you ever made a decision about something in your life which seemed difficult to make and at the end of the day, you stuck to your standard and did not compromise?
How was the feeling?
I am certain it felt good especially after your choice proved out to be the right one. It makes you feel good about yourself and also increases your self-esteem. Now, if over time, you consistently decide to do what is right, you will eventually form a habit of it and even if it seems like the world is against you, you will definitely have the fortitude to keep doing the right thing.
This feeling can also be seen when you do the will of God. There is a sense of achievement. You know that you have accomplished the will of the Father and as such you feel elated with His love.
**1 Peter 1:8-9** Though you have not seen him, you love him; and even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy, for you are receiving the end result of your faith, the salvation of your souls.
From this verse, we can see that the Apostle Peter, is trying to explain the love of God in our hearts. I want to make reference to the verse 9 where he says we are receiving the end result of our faith. Now let us explain further, our faith in God is what makes us obey His commandments, because we have faith in Him and we love Him, so as a result of that faith and love of God, we get to experience the overwhelming love of God in our hearts.
So my dear brethren, there is joy in doing what is right, there is joy is in doing the work of our Lord. I hoe that in whatever situation we find ourselves, we find the strength to take the right path.
