The first important thing to know when it comes to receiving divine guidance is that it is God's will to guide His children. Today's post is talking God's promise and commitment to guide us in the way we should go. The difficulty many of God's children have when it comes to receiving divine guidance is doubt as to God's willingness to lead them. David in Psalms 23:1 recognizes God as his shepherd. He says, ”The Lord is my shepherd; / shall not want.”What is the responsibility ofa shepherd? He feeds, protects and guides the sheep.
Recognizing the Lord as your shepherd is very important and vital to receiving divine guidance from Him. You don't wander around hopelessly as a sheep without shepherd. God has given us the Holy Spirit to guide us into all truth of God's will and plan for us. You don't have to grope in the dark; you are a child of light. You ought to walk in the light of the Word as to everything that God has prepared for you. Don't doubt God's willingness and ability to instruct, to teach and to guide you in the way that you should go. He is more willing to guide you into His perfect plan for you than you are willing to be led by Him.
The entire Bible is covered with promises of God's ability and willingness to guide His children. ln Psalms 18:28 the Psalmist said ”For thou wilt light my candle: the LORD my God will enlighten my darkness.”Again in Psalms 23:1 it says ”The LORD is myshepherd; [shall not want” showing us that it is the Lord's will to shepherd us. In Psalms 27:1 it says ”the LORD is my light and salvation...” Light stands for direction, advancement and education, which means that the Lord is our Guide. Jeremiah 3:4 also reveals that God is the Guide of our youth. In the New Testament, Jesus says in John 16:13-15 that the Holy Spirit will guide us into all truth. Beloved, it is God's will to guide you into His perfect plan for your life. Believe that God will guide you because He loves you, He wants the best for you and you are His child in Christ Jesus. Don't doubt God's love, ability and willingness to guide you in that wealthy place that He cut out for you before the foundation of the world.
