Great-tailed Grackle Males
It is rare that I will do grayscale photographs, but with this one it seemed right. This photo was taken with not quite the right settings for the situation, but sometimes things work out anyway. This is the reality of birding, and the reality of life. :) I would like to replicate the moment with more sky included in the frame.
Squabbles are common in the bird world, as it is in the human world. It is usually over territory, resources, or for female attention. Fortunately, birds don't usually hold a grudge and disputes are short lived. Above are two male Great-tailed Grackles competing for something or another.
Update on Steem Creators Conference!
We had a pitch party most of the day yesterday.
There was a panel available to listen to startups/ideas and provide feedback for potential projects. I thought having that resource for feedback was a valuable asset to those starting projects. It is always good to get insight, especially from people with experience who are not emotionally involved. A huge thank you to ,
, and
who were the members of the panel.
We heard pitches from dedicated people with interesting ideas. I especially loved all the efforts we heard about for providing opportunities to people in less fortunate areas of the world. We video called with a few, unfortunately the connection quality was poor and it was hard to make out everything that was said. I will be looking more into them in the near future. Below are some of my particular favorites from the many we heard from. Thank you everyone for sharing!
This man shared an amazing, heartfelt performance with us. Joseph and I will be checking out his other works and adding them to our collection.
