In case you haven't heard the news yet, yesterday announced the launch of SteemDice.net. You can read about it in this post. This is a great addition to the network, as users now have another fun thing to do with their STEEM/SBD that they earn through the site!
SteemDice is a game where you can wager your STEEM/SBD on the outcome of a random dice roll. You wager an amount, choose your odds of winning (between 1% and 99%), and then roll the dice. If you predict right, you win. If you predict wrong, you loose. There is a 2% house edge for the payouts.
There are two versions of the game. One is to use the SteemDice.net website UI. The other is sending the commands directly via your wallet. (Tutorials below.) I played a few rounds via the direct wallet interface, and it was quite a bit of fun!
Here are the steps to play via the SteemDice.net website:
- Go to SteemDice.net.
- Choose whether to play with STEEM or SBD.
- Choose a wager amount.
SBD: Between 0.01 and 25.00 SBD
STEEM: Between .01 and 100 STEEM - Choose your odds.
Between 1 and 99 (percent) - Click "Roll Dice".
- Enter your Steem username and private active key when prompted.
Here are the steps to play via your Steem wallet:
- Choose whether to play with STEEM or SBD.
- Click "Transfer" in your Steem wallet.
- Choose a wager amount.
SBD: Between 0.01 and 25.00 SBD
STEEM: Between .01 and 100 STEEM - Choose a number between 1 and 99.
- Choose whether you think the random number will be "higher" or "lower" than the number you choose.
- Transfer the wager amount to the
account (notice the 1), using a memo in the format of:
{"type":"lower","number":50}, where you put either "upper" or "lower" in the first field, and your number (1-99) in the second field. - Click "Submit"
- Enter your private active key when prompted.
Here are a few examples of the wallet memos:
{"type":"lower","number":50}50% chance of winning, if the number is below 50.{"type":"lower","number":25}25% chance of winning, if the number is below 25.{"type":"higher","number":25}75% chance of winning, if the number is above 25.
Good luck, and have fun! Remember not to gamble anything you can't afford to lose ;)
