We are just a few weeks away from SteemFest 4 In Bangkok Thailand, and many Steemians who will be attending are getting to know each other through
Hive account@anomadsoul's #roadtosteemfest initiative. I took part in it last year and not only did it help me get prepared for the event, but it led to many friendships that still exist today.
One of the other pretty amazing things about SteemFest is where it's held. As many times individuals going are experiencing a new part of the world, maybe somewhere they never even expected to visit, and getting to do so while meeting fellow Steemians makes it just that more special.
So with that in mind, Eric is asking what those attending SteemFest 4 are planning on doing while in Bangkok, what they are looking forward to, and what exactly they are expecting.
The Thai Life - What To Expect
So, it's your chance to share what would you love to do while you are in Bangkok! Are you looking forward to eat certain dish or street food? Are you dying to visit a specific monument or to cruise to a specific island? What are you looking forward about the Thai life?
Share it with us so we know what you want to do and perhaps we can tag along with you and make the tourist trip together! Also perhaps by reading your post we can get new ideas to make our own plans :)

Eric asked a few of us who attended last year to help him showcase these posts, and today is my turn ;)
Here are 10 Steemians with their "The Thai Life - What to Expect" Posts -

First up we have
Hive account@wanderein, who has visited Bangkok before but is looking forward to doing so with her fellow Steemians come November.
I expect that it will be very busy during the Steem conference days. I will just go with the flow with my fellow Steemians, Travelfeed team and will join wherever they go. It would be great if there are Thai Steemians who can take us to the real Thai life. I have always been interested in the local way of life wherever I go so this would be great experience.

Next up we have
Hive account@coruscate sharing what I bet is a slight fear for many - traveling to a big and hectic city like Bangkok.
I also want to say that it will be my first time traveling in Asia, and if anything, I’m more nervous than I was about going to Poland. Bangkok is such a big city and I would be worried about getting lost – so I’ll probably stay pretty close to the pack. I’m planning to get a room at the hotel where the event is happening and will try to setup some buddies that I travel around with so I’m never out by myself. I’m still hoping my sister @maryjaney will come with me this year… but we’ll see what happens! She’s my favorite travel buddy and it would be fun to have the @steemsistershow in action at Steemfest!

Hive account@joythewanderer was in Bangkok earlier this year and while being excited to see fellow Steemians again, she has some great tips as well as places to go while there.
I was in Bangkok earlier this year, so I still have some fairly fresh memories of Thailand. I won't say it's my favourite country but in general I like Thailand as a travel destination.

I love that food is something that is on everyone's mind, something I can relate to!
Hive account@mmunited seems to have his eye set on other things as well though ... ;)
Thailand are very famous for grilled fish, papaya salad, Tom Yum soup and beautiful lady. I would like to taste all of them except beautiful lady. For a place to visit I want to go Pattaya beach. It is very beautiful and I never been to this beach before. I would like to recommed all of my friends to visit this beach while you are in Thailand

Hive account@karinxxl has made the trip to Thailand before and has some lovely memories of the northern area. She is also looking forward to eating some of the local cuisine, I don't blame her - you guys are making me hungry!
What I remember most from my previous Thailand journey was a multi day trekking up North in the Chang Mai area, which I really enjoyed and the tranquility in the North compared to the more touristy South. Nothing wrong with that though every now and then. And I remember Bangkok being humid and Kao San Road. Yeah the street where every tourist will go, and where I also most likely will end a night in November.

@Jeffjagoe is also looking forward to the food and the nightlife as well as to see what our dear Roeland has in store. That man never disappoints!
I don't know much about the specific tourist sites in Bangkok, but I definitely plan to see a bunch. I will let @roelandp do the leg work on that one... The @steemfest mobile app usually has a GPS-based city navigator that includes information about local sites and things to see. I plan on using the app to find epic locations. I also expect to see lots of the city by simply attending the conference days. @roelandp usually books the best spots around.

Hive account@littlenewthings traveled to Bangkok many years ago and is excited to see how the city has changes since then, as well as to try some authentic Red Ruby, which looks quite delicious if I do say so myself!
The first time I had it in Siam Square, I totally loved it. And ever since then, probably only one shop in Petaling Jaya serves the closest to the Red Ruby resemblance to the Bangkok version (because they literally imported the ingredients straight from Thailand). The texture, the generous (thai?) coconut milk, the Sago .... yummilicious if the weather is as hot as @waybeyondpadthai shared her experience with me earlier.

Hive account@celestal is keeping his expectations open and using the time to just grow as an individual, I really liked his take on this.. but I do hope he brings some dried fruit still!
I don't like to decide such things beforehand, because I find great value in being able to break free from tight plan and structure that most of our daily lives are already occupied with. To jump outside of the structure is a chance to be someone else and stretch the boundaries in which we might have got stuck in during routine. It can be an opportunity to try new pieces of the puzzle on the self that could make up for a more wholesome personality. This is my view only, but it is shaping to be a powerful mindset in my life already: you see, because of some wacky decisions during these couple years, they have contributed to my decision to attend to the massage training which I mentioned above.

Hive account@kaerpediem has traveled to Thailand many times and is looking forward to many things, including shopping..
Hive account@coruscate we may have found your travel buddy!
I have been to Thailand for family holidays; Bangkok before the kids, and then to Krabi and Phuket with the kids. There were also day visits in Phuket and Hadnyai when I worked on a cruise ship for 3 months. They all have their own little charm for holiday goers. From amazing food if you can take the heat to frolicking on beautiful beaches to a tonne of shopping (bring enough luggage just in case) to soaking in culture and capturing them on stills.

Finally we have
Hive account@world-travel-pro who seems to live up to his name with this location, and I bet his experience in the area will come in handy for many of his fellow Steemians!
It's as if Steemit Inc. and @roelandp chose this years Steemfest destination just for me. I've been traveling and living internationally for over 16 years now, I've been to a lot of countries and experienced so much! When I look back on all I've seen and done, and think to myself which country I enjoy the most, Thailand always is the obvious answer. I love the country so much that I've spent over two years of my life there and this will be my third consecutive winter.
