Today I turn 27 years old, and it has been so amazing to celebrate it in Barcelona, Spain with . We are only in Barcelona for 4 days, so we have to make each moment count! Today, we hopped on a tour bus and visited three places designed by Gaudi, a famous architect. His unique style is inspired by nature, and you can see it in his work.
Here we are cheesing hard, on the tour bus!
First stop, was Casa Bastllo, aka the dragon house. This house is absolutely incredible as there are no corners in the house, everything is organic and free flowing. The design was inspired by the sea.
Not only is Casa Bastllo ascetically pleasing to the eye, but every detail and part of the house is also functional. Even the ceilings were one of a kind!
Of course, we had to take a little acro picture outside of the building. In this photo, it looks like we were the only tourists, but I think we surprised everyone, and literally everyone stepped aside in shock when I climbed up on 's shoulders! LOL. (Surprise, we are acrobats in disguise as tourists!)
Next stop was, Sagrada La Familia, which is a cathedral that has been worked on for over 100 years. It is expected to be completed in 144 years in 2026! This is probably one of the most amazing places I have been too. I was so shocked to see something so beautiful made by humans. How in the world did they move these massive stones?
If you think the outside is incredible, wait until you see the inside!
Last stop of the day was Park Gurell and the view up there was amazing. I have to admit, my legs were so sore from walking up that big hill, but it was totally worth the view!
Anyways, wanted to give you a quick update about our adventures for today! When I get back home, I plan on elaborating and telling you the rich history of each place I visited. Thanks for following!
love,
Karen
