Hive account@alanfreestone and I almost missed the bus that was supposed to take us from Lisbon to Baleal. Hive account@juanmiguelsalas had to convince the bus driver that he couldn't leave without us. We even jumped the queue at the station in order to get our tickets and left a couple of astonished people behind.

Everybody who let us pass: thank you, you made our day!

The sweat was totally worth it, the day turned out te be one of the best experiences during the whole Hive account@steemfest.

The night before at the Steemfest closing party we had organized a small group of Ocean lovers, and the next day we communicated ourselves through a Whatsapp chat.

In fact the chat still exists, and I hope we'll be able to reactivate it at the next conference. Hive account@roelandp must know if we'll get the chance to celebrate it close to a beach again...?

Now back in time and back to Portugal: Hive account@heidtravels and Hive account@nomadnessie - or local surfers - were waiting for us at a terrific surf spot with really nice conditions. We had left a rather cloudy capital in order to find a summery paradise at Praia do Baleal then.

This was the perfect relief after the conference!

After having some sandwiches that were bigger than myself - and therefore killed the hangover from last night's party immediately - we jumped into our wetsuits, grabbed some surfboards and took a bath in the fresh Atlantic Ocean.

The first picture above was taken after the surf session on our walk towards the dinner location - a nice beach club. After a huge burger and a cold refreshing beer, being surrounded by a group of the coolest steemians, the day will be remembered as one of the best of my whole Steem journey.
