DIG (dirt is good). Dirt is not good can stop you from digging. Dig times dig times dig times = Diggist
These were the words that Terry left in the 3rd Steemgigs Discord channel Talk held last May 12, 2018. It was supposed to start 10:30 PM and I sent out a message to everyone at 10:00 PM that it will start in 30 minutes and made reminders on setting their Discord setting to push to talk or to have their mike muted so that we would not have any interruptions.
Placed a couple of songs in the voice channel while waiting and went back to writing a post I was doing. 5 Minutes before the show I went back and reminded people again and was early and came just as someone messaged in chat that he did two #ulogs but was not curated.
Terry took this as an opportunity to answer and as always when Terry talks it is as if he is talking to you one on one.
if you didn't see my upvotes that doesn't mean your not curated
curation is not intended for up vote and it could be a resteem
simple thing as engagement is curation to me
We are more than the upvotes that we would receive because these ulogs are meant to be be shared to the ulog community who will curate and support each other. It is not just Terry who will upvote, curate and resteem because when we see an awesome ulog that touched us and move us to share it.
It will be us Uloggers who will be responsible to promote steem, curate, share our votes and engage our fellow Uloggers. We will be a community who supports each other and not just there for an upvote from Terry.
Ulog would contain:
- A place where all uloggers are a curator.
- Each post contains its own freshness, no resource from internet.
- A post that contains you and your day.
- It covers you and your reaction to life
- Where you'll learn while your ulogging.
Unfortunately Terry's internet did not cooperate and he suddenly dropped off and he was not even aware of it. He kept on talking and talking and stopped 20 minutes into his talk.
While I was very nervous because we had more than 40 people in the room and each one was waiting for Terry. I had to act fast and make sure we did not have any dead air and so I began asking people to introduce themselves, talk about their ulog experience and how they came about learning it. People shared and talked and laughed.
Then @wakkylyon asked a question on how we can come off as not boring as we write about our daily lives. I was one of the first that answered that what we write about are things we are passionate and interested in. Things like that are never boring especially to us. We are given a platform to voice out our stories as we are the celebrities of our story and our readers our fans.
also gave his piece about the realizations he has gotten best read in his post Ulog #3; Time Out With @surpassinggoogle on #steemgiggs Discord voice channel
At this point, I saw a pattern. #untalented-adjustments, #teardrops,#steemgiggs, #steemsecrets, and now #ulogs... All these solutions to steemit challenges and I never knew this until today.
This post might get a bit lengthier if try to connect each of these innovations by @surpassinggoogle to help minnows in his bid to help minnows. From my understanding from that statement he made during the talk session, he is offering minnows something that will bring the best out of "us" at every point in time. Bringing out the uniqueness in you through #untalented, rewarding your proof of tears through #teardrops, getting value off what you've got to offer through #steemgiggs, broadening our knowledge and inspiring us to do more through #steemsecrets and now making us celebrities through #ulog.
What brough the house to a stand still when took the mike and explained her version of Ulogs. She said that she has been doing it for the past 6 days and her routine consists of going to the hospital for her thrice a week dialysis treatment, home, the mall to watch a movie. That is her life and if anyone is supposed to be boring it would be her.
Yet she writes her ulogs and if one day her daughter sees those she would know how her mother lived, curated, commented and connected with people. She stresses that fact that she is dying and I can say that no one was not feeling emotional at that point.
It was a great sharing moment for everyone and made us how special ulogs are.
Terry was silently listening and taking in all these wonderful sharing and caring emotions that was in the channel.
When it was his time again he spoke the words that we longed to hear of his journey and the curriculum of Steemgigs of how it would be of dream building with untalented, with the teardrops rewarding all.
Flaws are accepted. Dirt is good for it is cleaned by soap and we shine anew.
There was even a short quiz that he did some trivia on things that he has done lately. So true fans would be able to answer!
There we have it 3 winners of 5 SP each.
There were more sharing and talking about our life dreams and what we want to do with it. Terry is always awesome to listen to and you come out always feeling more inspired.
All this time I was just moving the conversation along, sometimes stepping in when Terry's connection was bad, muting people who were not muting their mikes even with numerous reminders and making sure everyone gets heard.
In that channel we had a voice, we had people listening in, we were celebrities and fans. We were uloggers.
