Wouldn't it be devastating if the witnesses we have entrusted our votes to, to solely protect our interests start selling out?
This morning I woke up to a post of triple.aaa possibly selling out to Justin Sun by and I must say I am very disappointed. Not surprised since Tripple AAA is a Korean community mostly, but disappointed nonetheless.
is the account that was used to push Triple aaa to the top 20 witness list, which is supposedly owned by Justin Sun. In their recent post, they also make it very clear they will be following the direction Justin takes.
Seeing that voted for
as witness , making them among the top 20 witnesses, raises a lot of questions for me.
I don't think it's rocket science, if Justin is voting for you, it is most likely because you made some back door deal, which in my opinion cannot be a deal that has the interests' of the community at heart, especially given the way Justin has been carrying himself lately, including blocking some of the top witnesses on twitter, to prevent us from interacting with his content and making know to the rest of the world what a canning, lying person he is.
To further quote, Tripple AAA Stated that they have started running the server version 0.22.5 on their current post..
We think that we are now on the edge of a lot of changes and that we may not return to the status quo as before. For that too much has happened already. But sometimes change may be needed to move forward. We will act, as everybody else here on the chain, to do what we think is right. And that would be to try to establish governance on this chain for all. Source
What does this mean for the rest of the witnesses & the community?
I am a little scared and skeptical that some more witnesses may start to give into Justin's demands(hopefully not), but should that be the case, it would be the end of STEEM as we know it. I've heard that money corrupts even the loyal before, but I never thought I could actually watch it in play, but life happens and here we are. Never say never.
Who is going to look out for the average Steemian? I know I am going a little extreme on this possibility , but we have to look at the bigger picture. I thought it couldn't possibly get worse than it already is, but turns out it can if we start to see more witnesses selling out.
It's about time everyone starts paying attention to STEEM politics and start using their votes wisely. IF you don't know who to vote for, you can always set proxy's with people that you trust to have the best interests of the community. There's been very many recommendations, I just say do your own diligence on this.
Keep the fight going. I seem to be of the opinion the twitter heat on Justin Sun has gone down, mostly because he has started blocking us from interacting with his content. But if you truly believe in this platform and the power of decentralization, you can always find a way to make your voice hear. Make another side account if you have to, no matter what the circumstances are, we do our best to fight for this blockchain, #steemhostiletakeover is the tag we are using.
UNVOTE SELL OUTS!! PERIOD.
You can start withif you used to support them.
