Notepad++ is a free and open source text application which has a lot of functions. It supports many programming languages which makes the most convenient type of text editor and the primary option of most developers.
It supports multi tab also which really improves productivity and work especially you need to finish your work fast. What makes it more amazing is that it does not need heavy CPU usage, it only need less CPU load to be able to run the application.
It does support almost almost all known platforms.
Downloadable free on their website either in 32-bit or 64-bit environment.
I would recommend to try this software and make it as your primary text editor. I am sure that you will be satisfied of this software application.
