The Robots are coming
Mecanno has been around since 1908 and although they've lost their appeal with the 'engineering' crowd they've manged to re-invent themselves with M.A.X the Robot.
It's a robotic toy with Artificial Intelligence build into it's brain.
It's fully, programmable, using the free app, and the face of M.A.X. can be programmed for various facial expressions which is surely to be engaging for kids.

Although it's designed for ages 10+, I can see this being attractive to the 8+ crowd, largely due to the inter-activeness and cute robot features.
