It's been one interesting year since I joined steemit and discovered the steem blockchain more than 4 months ago and it has changed my perspective about the future quite a bit. But since it's the holiday season and it's all about being grateful and giving back I was fortunate enough to come across a great idea that would help me do just that.
The idea consists of a challenge called Steemian of the Year and you can read the orginal post by here. It's basically paying tribute to the person that has inspired you the most on this platform, kind of a mentor. So here it goes:
Before I start though, I must confess that it's a bit difficult for me to choose one person because I have a whole list of people that I would like to nominate the " steemians" of the year, but the challenge doesn't work like that; I have to choose one person and that person is automatically nominated for writing a similar post about their favorite person on steemit.
So, without further ado, I designate my steemian of the year.. drum roll please ... .
When I first started out writing posts I was a bit out of my depth ( some would argue that I still am :P ) and on top of that the feeling that nobody cared about what I was writing was putting me off. Learning new skills is hard and if you feel all by yourself while doing that, then it gets even harder. In this setting steps in our hero with awesome comentaries on some of my firsts posts ( you can check them out here and here )
He was the first person that had meaningful things to say about what I was writing and managed to get my excited about writing more. I can't stress enough about how important having such a mentor is here on steemit, and I also think this is one of the few places where you might find one.
Happymoneyman lives in California and is very passionate about homesteading and nature in general which is one of the first things that appealed to me. Also you can sense his energy and feel good attitude in his videos which will instantly brighten your day. In the comment section of his posts he always tries to have meaningful interactions with all who comment, even the spammers, which to me shows a lot of dedication and good will.
So if you read this and don't know who he is, head over to his blog and say that you heard a lot of awesome things about him :)
My name is Adrian a.k.a "The nearsighted traveler". I'm a running enthusiast who loves to spend time enjoying nature. I write mostly about running, the places I explore and the interesting stuff I learn here on steemit.
