This is low content I admit, but I find it disheartening when I see single paragraph posts making 1000's of Steem dollars. I would much rather upvote the content our famous community members bring to the community rather than them just saying they are here. I hear echoes of the #introduceyourself tag having this problem here and there. I am all for having amazing introductions earning 1000's of SD, but simple one-paragraphers kinda erks me.
Easy to Criticize. What are my Solutions?
One. When bringing members into someone, encourage them to do their introduction along with an article or examples or their work. (Not just links to their websites where they can further profit away from enriching Steemit content.)
Two. Maybe just comment if there is little content, welcoming them instead of upvoting. "Great to have you hear, can't wait to see the content you bring!"
I feel like Two goes against the early voting rewards gained by upvoting famous people and most likely it won't happen. I propose a Steemiquette and we can try it right now:
