In Part Two I talked about the difference between being focused or busy - Minimalism for Steemers: Part 2 - Focused or Busy?
Compared to the 50’s for example we now have bigger homes, flashier cars and a house of unwanted goods and clothes. Does this not make us any happier?
We get to buy all these things through credit cards, getting into debt just because we get the instant gratification of buying what we can. It seems like we’re not especially happier in the long run.
How is it then possible that this has made us less happier and more miserable?
So what would inspire you to live a simpler minimalistic life?
I guess it depends on the relationship and meaning between you and your possessions. Sometimes the things that are truly important are pushed to the side and materialistic possessions are given greater importance.
How often are you in a situation where possessions were actually taking time away from what brings you true happiness?
We have the choice at any time and at any age to start living a simpler life to really focus on what truly matters along our journey to meaning and happiness.
I think by living a simpler more minimalistic life it can free up more precious resources such as time, money and energy to use in other ways that create happiness, meaning and purpose.
Are you ready to begin a more simpler way of living?
