So a Secret Santa is a Holiday Gift Exchange where users signup and then get paired up with another user. And reddit's Secret Santa was started in 2009 and ended up becoming the largest Gift Exchange on Earth and Steemit need's its own.
https://www.reddit.com/r/secretsanta/
https://www.redditgifts.com/ Here is the Main Site they made, wow its beautiful, and we need one for Steemit with extra features and all over the steem blockchain!
That's reddit's secret Santa program, theirs is the Biggest gift exchange on Earth! Steemit should have a gift exchange for a variety of reasons! A gift exchange will help steemit iron out our Shipping Logistics and we can find out how easy it is for steemit users in the USA to mail and ship items to Africa, or from Australia to Peru, and find out about all the wonderful issues and holdups that occur along the way! :D We Need to have our own Steemit Shipping company like I was talking about in my Solar Powered Delivery Boat Project post . I also had a talk with in the steemspeak.com discord chat (run by
and inertia ) where @Mughat made the valuable point that decentralized shipping service will be very useful for many of the reasons especially on Steem Blockchain. This is probably related to why Fedex and big Shipping Container and transport companies are looking into Blockchains along with Port Authorities. Amazon buying more stock shares of FedEx and the idea that Amazon would have their own shipping service makes me wonder if we could make steem even more useful than it is now!
Well a Steemit Secret Santa Holiday Gift Exchange would show us all what happens when Steemit users start sending gifts to each other and we will see what shipping routes are slow and which ones work best etc. This will show us how an openbazaar type system for selling items on Steem will turn out. I think it would be obvious to move forward and fund/support/upvote the @Steemporium idea by and make a sort of openbazar for steemit where we can even compete with shopify by allowing a referral program so when we get people to click our friends referal link and buy items from that shop then it keeps track and pays us a commission! We should start exploring these things now and see what happens when steemit users start sending packages! :D Reddit style Secret Santa Gift Exchange for Steemit can bring us all sorts of Publicity! (Last year steemit wasn't big enough but now its a perfect chance to start planing for it now!)
Like THIS big win for Reddit last Christmas, Bill gates even joined Reddit's Secret Santa program and surprised one lucky Reddit user with a bunch of Games, Xboxlive membership cards, lots of Zelda merch a classic NES, and an Xbox One and lots more gifts,
Anyway here is what Bill gate's secret santa gifts looked like!
Here is the BusinessInsider Article about it from December 2016! http://www.businessinsider.com/bill-gates-goes-crazy-as-a-reddit-secret-santa-2016-12/#and-like-whipped-cream-on-a-triple-portion-of-hot-apple-pie-he-also-threw-in-the-halo-5-guardians-game-limited-edition-of-course-and-the-new-tomb-raider-game-and-a-years-worth-of-xbox-live-gold-membership-cards-wooooo-she-wrote-12
This is what Steemit has in store for us, celebrities will be joining Steemit... look at reddit's Power, reddit has had an AMA (Ask Me anything Interview) from both Barrack Obama and Donald trump
https://www.reddit.com/r/IAmA/comments/z1c9z/i_am_barack_obama_president_of_the_united_states/
https://www.reddit.com/r/The_Donald/comments/4uxdbn/im_donald_j_trump_and_im_your_next_president_of/
So we WILL get Celebrities and CEOs and politicians on Steemit, it's just a matter of time. Now Reddit is owned by a private company called Conde Nast which is worth Billions, It's owner is worth 13 Billion, and this parent company of Reddit is never ever talked about On reddit itself and we should remember that when posts get "archived" and subreddits removed, it is CondeNaste a big globalist combine which is pulling the strings! Reddit Inc doesn't care about making its users any money, they will NEVER pay it's users! They had a plan for reddit notes but Conde Naste their parent company said NOPE too many legal liabilities, so thank GOD we are coming for Reddit's userbase! reddit had it's chance to stay open pay it's users reddit Notes cryptocurrency but they canceled it! So let's make sure we get a Secret Santa program going! On Reddit they even have a whole system setup where leftover users or users whose "secret santa" partners don't send gifts back will end up getting paired up with Super Santa's, members who send extra gifts to make sure no one gets left out or forgotten! It is a simple program that would be very fun for some rookie up and coming Steem developers! It could even use Steem Comments and posts to organize, and we could develop more of a community feeling with this sort of program!
Here is an Example of some of the Gifts people receive, from the Gallery section on redditgifts.com/gallery
@Adept and I were discussing how more Reddit successes need to be "ported" over to Steemit including the need for a Steem based version of reddits r/Place reddit.com/r/place which is a collaborative Pixel art project similar to million dollar homepage but where people all choose what each Pixel can be, wars are fought over certain areas of teh canvas, but with our version and I both seemed to simultaneously have the idea a while ago but he is now actually working on it, and his version for Steem will involve BUYING the pixels with SBD, and being able to outbid people etc.
Here is the result of this year's reddit Place
here is the Link to the Subreddit for more info https://www.reddit.com/r/place/
Here is the INCREDIBLE Time Lapse showing how the collaborative pixel art experience happened over time.,
Anyway the reddit Place is just an example of how many successful Reddit projects can be ported over to Steemit since they've been proven to work already on reddit.
We would also want to get Stickers for Steemit and again was talking to me on the steemspeak.com discord chat server about how he was getting Steemit Stickers made and sent out and i agreed this was more important than most would assume. This is because Reddit reached their 240 Million account and Billion dollar success with a total marketing/advertising budget of $500 all of which was spent on STICKERS!
This @FastCompany article is all about how Reddit built its massive Empire on a $500 marketing/advertising budget which was ONLY spent on STICKERS!
https://www.fastcompany.com/1841389/how-reddit-built-its-empire-500-bucks-stickers-and-giving-people-what-they-want
So we need to listen to when he comes on
's steemspeak.com discord chat and talks about how
and him were getting steemit stickers made up and sent out? This is IMPORTANT! Yeah we MUST get those stickers sent to all the socially active steemit users so we can begin sticking them all over the world!
ANYWAY Please think about all the ways we can use the success of Reddit to make Steemit successful! Stickers, Secret Santa, r/Place ALL great projects that will become VERY profitable once ported over onto the STEEM blockchain!
Here is Reddit's Alex.com Rank, VERY high #8 Globally and #4 Website in the USA, that is a VERY big deal!
Obviously #1 is Google then Youtube then Facebook so to come after Facebook is Huge! (for the US and the US is the biggest internet market as we had the head start, but the world is catching up! We won't always have this title! and would agree that American tech Giants have TOO much power, FAANG Facebook Apple Amazon Netflix Google all need to have that tech market taken away from them via DPOS systems like Steem and EOS.. this IS the new internet, this new Graphene Internet is web 3.0
Here is Steemit.com alexa ranking: 2,187 Globally and 1,589 in the US. VERY good numbers for a year old website!
Now here are some Links about Secrets to Reddit USers Success, which is all about the secrets to getting noticed on reddit like finding top comments and replying to them... its stuff like that which got top reddit users all their kama! BUT that karma is WORTHLESS So imagine how Wealthy you can get by applying those same Reddit secrets to STEEMIT! The strategies are fungible! meaning they work for Steemit if they work for reddit! (Loose use of the word fungible heh) But that point is so important, reddit users have given us a PROVEN game plan that Steemit users can use!
http://mashable.com/2012/07/19/reddit-for-marketers/#l9xEU3vaVaqY
And this article about "How reddit Users Hiunt for Karma" which includes this GREAT InfoGraphics! It works on Steemit too! Instead of "Hunters and Goberers" we have maybe Posters and Curators?
http://mashable.com/2012/07/19/reddit-for-marketers/#l9xEU3vaVaqY
Here is another article on secret to reddit Karma (which is also the secret to getting Steempower)
https://www.dailydot.com/irl/upman-reddit-comment-karma-record-breaking/
Reddit has shown the way forward and has blazed some of the trails for us so why not use what they've already built? I believe we do need to organize some serious projects to port all successful Reddit programs like this over to Steemit! They've done a;l the hard deep learning for us when it comes to Setting UP the successful vote based user submitted content management system, and now with cryptocurrency and DPOS and witness nodes and the Bockchain we will see some incredible opportunities for Steemit Secret Santa and collaborative Pixel Art like Reddit's Place and other successful reddit projects that we should be working on for Steemit since they've been proven to work over on reddit!
thanks for reading, thank you to for being the ONLY other person on steemit who recognized the POWER of creating a Steemit based Reddit place collaborative Pixel Art idea when NO ONE else had the foresight to realize how IMPORTANT that idea would be! Now I see that a Steemit Secret Santa is ALSO very important. Reddit's secret santa became the largest gift exchange on Earth so let's compete for this title, let US have the largest gift exchange on Earth here on Steemit!
