If Steemit wants to become a relevant platform, then what is desperately needs is at least one authentic skeptic-centrist-agnostic-historical revisionist community. By authentic, I mean legitimate thinkers, not wannabe philosophers. Steemit needs people who know how to think, how to crunch the available information and turn it into brilliant new ideas.
Right now, all that is happening on the platform is the regurgitation of old ideas, often stolen from the best-known thinkers of antiquity. If we are lucky, that is. That is the best of what we find. The rest of it comes from up the asses of various purveyors of paranoid theories.
The world doesn't need more rampant atheists - who are currently holding the concept of skepticism in a stranglehold - just as it doesn't need more religious bigots.
The world, and Steemit, needs more Germar Rudolfs, and less Jim Fetzers. Sane people who study facts and draw conclusions that get them put in jail in some countries for questioning the unquestionable, and not laughed out of countries for theories that come from ass-farts and hash-smoke.
If anyone has the wherewithal to set up such communities I suggest that they seriously consider doing it. Unfortunately, I have my doubts that this possible on Steemit. So far, I know of only one other Steemian who has what it takes. I knew another one, but sadly he's disappeared, and it wasn't long before the group he was a part of (and light to the other members in it) degenerated into a handicraft, astrology, and religious-right morass that has, happily, dropped dead.
So, get to it people. Get people on Steemit who do more than make cupcakes and spit out dogma. Steemit's relevance in the long run depends on it.
