A Cryptocurrency investor, a silver investor, a steemian, and avid fisherman, I, take you through this seasons' best catches of summer 17. Lets go!
Here are the first ever pacific bonitos I have ever caught. I caught all 4 at once on a sabiki rig without using bait. I was on the pier and it was a slow day, but then I heard a dad with his son next to me talking to each other and the dad was like "hey look fishies are jumping" to his little kid, and then I heard splashing behind me and thought it was one of those swimmers, but I turned around and the fishes were boiling out of the water. I casted my line in, jigged my flies back, and soon enough, I had 4 fish on at once. It pulled the line off of the reel so fast and then I had to tighten my drag in order to get them in. Fun fight, and a great eating fish.
The next one is the batray that I caught at manhattan beach pier using a semi stationary egg weight bottom rig. I used a whole squid and a stinger hook and a front hook, casted it out on my big rod, then before I knew it my drag was going of screaming when it was on free spool, then I slowly tightened my drag up to let the hook set itself, then I set the hook, and the fight was on. Pulling yards and yards off of my reel, eventually I was able to get it in. We netted the fish safely, unhooked it and released it back to the wild.
The next one is the big calico bass I caught. I was at the redondo little pier and I used a whole squid with just a circle hook, and caught this big bass for the bay.
