It's not just me, is it? Are you bored with the current novel? Or with the "Push it to the Limit" series on old console graphics? Has there been some major blowup in the crypto world I don't know about? I mostly keep my head in the sand and churn out content, so when stuff like that happens I'm always the last to find out.
I'd normally just ride it out and keep doing what I do, but I'm increasingly reliant on Steemit as a source of income. You'd better believe I notice when my average payouts steadily decrease. There's been one heroic whale salvaging my earnings the past several days, bringing a single post out of each 4 up to $35-$40 so that overall the average is $20.
You are the thread that my life is hanging by right now, my dude. But it shouldn't entirely fall on your shoulders! Where are my usual upvoters? Have they all powered down? Are they on vacation? Were they dared to eat themselves and it actually worked?
Is it because of the recent technical glitches? I find that hard to believe. Where else is there to go? Busy.org isn't a competitor, just a faster frontend for Steemit, right? There's nowhere else to go if Steemit tanks. If there's a competing site that's actually taking off, I definitely want to know about it.
It could just be a slow day I guess. I just can't afford many slow days, because as it is right now I have perhaps $200/mo budgeted for food. That's about what I used to get on food stamps before I went off them during last Summer's Steem price surge, foolishly imagining it would last.
Now I can't get back on them because they don't believe me when I tell them the money didn't last. I can't prove it to them because Steemit doesn't provide official records of payment like a conventional job does, and they won't accept my bank statements.
Any info anybody has on why this is happening, I'm all ears. I actually do think it's specific to me, since the earnings of other Steemians I know seem to be about average for their respective pages. Kinda getting stressed out here. If you normally support my content but have been overlooking older posts that haven't yet paid out, please consider bringing those up to $20 or higher.
A novel chapter made $8.54 yesterday. $8.54. Two of today's posts made $3.83 and $9.79. I'm not sure what's causing it, but I can't get by for long if this continues. If you see posts that low and feel you can spare the voting power, I'd be much obliged for the boost. I can only keep the content coming so long as there's a roof overhead and food in my stomach.
Thank you for your time and consideration!
