Steemit has hogged my attention for the past month. I was one of the lucky ones that was blogging here before the site became uber popular. I wrote handful of good articles and somehow my account is worth somewhere near $35,000.
Do I deserve that much for my articles? Probably not. But I was rewarded for taking a risk while the site was still a minor experimental project. And I'm grateful that it's happened. I've paid off two credit cards and plan to pay off all my debt if the Gods are onside.
Anyway, let's talk about you
You're probably new here and didn't have as much luck as me. If you've genuinely put your heart into a piece and are disappointed with what you earned. PLEASE COMMENT BELOW.
I'm now a Steemit otter. My vote on a fresh post is worth about 30 cents for you. It isn't much. But it's enough to appear on the active page, to then get a vote from a whale.
Here is what I value
- Brutally emotionally honest stories. Example: The modelling industry destroyed my soul by
- Real passions... stuff that obsesses you
- People who can connect the dots between things. Example: Why Steemit is the Tesla Motors of Social Networks by
- People who challenge the status quo. E.g. Why America's College System is Screwed Up by
- Truthful stories of what a job is like . E.g. The Secret Life of A Hypnotist by
- People who create magic and playful things
- Writers who capture the essence of places, people, capturing the smells, the flavours, the microexpressions of the local people.
- Sensitive people who find the world a bit overwhelming and have a strong inner world.
- Subversive artists. People who do what they're not supposed to do.
That's what I'm interested in. That's what I'll upvote.
Why?
Steemit here needs diversity. For it to become as big as Facebook, we need a huge variety of content from all swathes of people.
I also think Steemit is the portal to a shift in consciousness. I think it's the start of the revolution. It will rip up the old economic model and help us rechannel life force into meaningful endeavours. It has the DNA for it..
But what Steemit needs right now is more than simply cryptocurrency experts and coders. It needs YOU. It needs your voice. Your story. We want to hear your soul talk to us.
Don't be discouraged if you haven't made it to the front page here on Steemit. Don't let the bastards say "try harder, stop whining." You have every right to complain if you have made something meaningful that hasn't been seen. Let me do what I can to fix it.
Comment below with a link to your best work. I'll upvote it if I like it. And if I don't I'll give some constructive feedback so you can become a better writer.
