Advice from a minnow to a newbie.
While people like and the like are at 10,000 plus followers, I feel qualified enough to share what has gotten me to this point, and perhaps, what would have gotten me further. Thank you to all who have made this possible to share!
Share what you’re passionate about
Content really flows better when you enjoy the nitty gritty of what you are trying to express to your audience. I love art. I love DIY natural solutions. Crunchy mom stuff. Photography. Inspirational thoughts and practical help in my life. So, as I prepare each post, I enjoy creating and choosing the photos and describing the ins and outs of the topic at hand.
Genuinely share your life events, your thoughts, feelings discoveries, and/or talents
Create your quality content for your audience
I try to think about why my followers are reading my content. If it is inspirational or encouraging, all of my text highlights that aspect of it. If it is a DIY or natural solution, I try to make it as clear and easy to follow so they will try it. And, with all of my posts, I try to be to the point. Time is so limited for everyone, and there are a lot of great posts out there to read.
I think what will benefit my followers the most and cut the rest out.
Consistency in posting is key!
Of course, you have to regularly post your own content to really gain traction, but it’s so important to reach out and post comments on other people’s blogs you are genuinely interested in. Share a real, thoughtful comment, and the owner will appreciate it! I’ve exchanged some very helpful and specific information through these mini-conversations, and it’s what makes Steemit great.
I have heard it said, people come for the rewards, but they stay for the community!
I know there are a dozen other tips I could share, but time is short! These are my top three. I have not been the best in consistency, or I may have been much further in my goals in 2017. But, 2018 is a new year with new opportunities for everyone.
