Now that the reputation system is in place people are starting to realize that their actions on steemit are actually important. I guess for some it's kinda too late and...sucks to be you (yes, I'm looking at you guy in the - minus zone).
First of all I wanted to give out a couple tricks on how to get a bad reputation
- Make sure Steemit is your primary tag on all you new posts. Got a funny meme, ef it, it's about steemit so that's my first choice of tags. I'll throw in funny and meme too just in case.
- Go on steemit.chat and paste your post's link on ALL the channels there not just #postpromotion. Because why not. Also, repeat the action preferably every 5 minutes just to be sure everyone knows you're a great author.
- Write a post about Steemit being a ponzi scheme, an unfair community full of upvote bot lists. Rant abuot it a lot and that will definitely get people to value you as a thought leader and will certainly Follow you and check out your awesome new articles. Bring out all the negativity you stored deep down and spill it on everyone's screen. That's the spirit.
- Saw a great post in the Trending section? Why not do the magic copy/paste thing and post it again by yourself. Hell, if that guy made it big I will too, right? Especially if he worked his ass off for that photo/video or found a new great idea.
- Get a bot that comments on every new post with "Hey @username, great post!". (I know, bots are geniuses and you're a genius too for getting one). The great alternative here is to manually comment on posts and say "Hey, I liked your [insert post related comment]. Upvote my post too [insert spam post link here] because I upvoted yours."
- Bonus one:.You got in an argument with someone and you don't like him/her now? Make sure you downvote everything that mo-fo posts, being articles, comments, everything. That'll teach them a lesson and you've got your revenge.
I also wanted to provide some guidelines for the people in the - (minus) zone that got there through an unfair process.
Clearly understand why you have a bad rep. Have you been downvoted? And why. Then, if you earned it, there isn't much you can do because...well, you deserve it and work your ass to get back on top. You can do it!
If you know why you're in the minus zone and it is unfair for you to be there do one of the following:
- Do a post where you clearly explain what is happening and bring good, valid reasons why you shouldn't have a bad rep. (here's an example that worked: https://steemit.com/steemit/@penambang/how-single-downvote-ruined-my-reputation)
- If you're on slack (bet you're not but still), do as
said and bring it up there. All you need is one-two whales to up vote you and you're back at +6 most probably.
- If you're not on Slack (neither am I), bring it up on https://steemit.chat in the #steemitabuse or #steemitabuse-classic channels. More often then not, people will stand up for you because we're a community and we support each other.
I posted this article with a little satirical tone. I tried a funny note but it brings out the ugly truth. I am not only bringing out the bad stuff but also providing some alternatives to getting your rep back if you've been damaged unfairly. I do hope this helps, at least some, that deserve it.
