Maybe self-voting monster might be not that bad when you do it yourself but making a bot for this can only be compared with interaction to a sexdoll.
I'd also compare self-voting with mythology Monster called Uroboros which ate itself starting with its tail.
This is not new for human beings at any other business or platform and that is what we shouldn't be scared of. In psychology there's a self-destruction syndrome describing every person as a bit enemy to him(her)self. Only human mind can stop this and that is the only thing that differentiate us from animals (they don't bite or eat themselves if it's not a part of a general living mechanism)
Why there's no future today?
Though Blockchain technology is thought to be a new level of relations and a new stage of human development, we can't just destroy some faint parts of our nature developed for centuries for just in 1 or 2 years.
To add one more comparison, I would say that our reaction to self-voting is like when one kid at kindergarten tells nursery-governess that other boy or girl crashes toys and and this kid does it silently himself while governess can't see it. You can acknowledge the same traits you see in other person and that what can bring you down if you're too judgmental.
So we can only be smiling about the whole stuff and hope Steemit will lead us to evolution faster than what make us more animalistic in behavior. Hope or not to, that's the way it is developing us. How fast could it be depend only on our choice. Please, guys, be reasonable and upvote more posts of each other, especially posts of newcomers.
