Before about a month i posted a blog about going to Red Sea. The blog 24 hours rewards was less than 1$, it started to get attention after first rewards already executed. Any way it got about more 20 upvotes and reach 16$ in few days with total 123 votes and stopped there, then Whales experiment started (No Whale voting with full power). my little blog rewards started to grow to reach 120$, then (@ abit) came and downvote the blog as a part of experiment to naturalize Whale upvote, to be specific ( @ ned) upvote. But at the end my blog rewards was 71$.
Here is a snapshot of the blog upvotes and rewards
Why is that? from 16$ to 71$ with same upvotes?
What i understand from Hive account@timcliff blogs that daily rewards pool is fixed but distribution according to voting power & SP is changing every day, for example if only 2 minnows upvote today, all rewards pool will be distributed to those upvote according to voting power & SP.
Holding whales upvotes during experiment increase voting value of Minnows, Dolphin and Orca and that explain why my blog rewards increased by about 6 fold.
Moral of the story
This time same concept can be applayed but in different way, rewards pool decrease due to the Fork, i guess due to some complicated coding issues that i won't try to know or understand in details. But now only 1% of rewards in the pool, that will be distributed according to voting power and SP. This number will increase gradually to reach 99% of regular rewards before the Fork
Before getting 1 week rewards, one should expect an increase in rewards per blog without more upvoting, for example a blog collected 1$ with 100 upvotes today (pool 1%) could worth 20$ with same 10 upvotes in payout time (pool reach 20%), this number is not accurate and am not sure how fast rewards pool will recover to its optimal level but i hope this helped.
Great job so far
I think we all realize that old ways will not sent STEEMIT free. scalability have its price and i am glad that founders, development team and some active member of this nice community not only realized this but working to do radical change make this platform fit for mass adoption and they are doing a great job, that will help this platform in long term.
We all need to be patient and supportive to see this great platform thrive.
Seeing some steemian thought about it in negative way motivate me to write this blog.
