Investing in Cryptocurrries, Steem and Steemit – My newbie journey
My brother is an OCD crypto investor. I on the other hand, only just know how to do online banking!
My bro has been educating me in cryptocurrencies (I am still far from understanding most of it) and I have to admit it excites me having all this new knowledge; I just don’t really know how to use it!
My baby steps so far have included:
• Using faucets and games to earn free bitcoin
• Learning how to use cryptocurrency wallets
• Investing a small amount of money into cloud mining
• Giving an amount of money to my brother to invest for me
• And finally, joining Steemit!
The Faucets were fun at first and I became obsessive about clicking every hour or 10 minutes, or whatever the rollover time period was, to be able to claim the next amount of satoshi’s. It soon becomes a chore though... boring!
The crypto wallets are fairly straight forward, especially the exchanging coins without fees, and trading in different coins to move the money around as cheaply as possible. But I still don’t really understand the different coins that are available, so I stick to what I know.
The cloud mining is interesting, although I haven’t seen my investment returned yet so I don’t think it will be earning me a profit any time soon. I have probably invested at the wrong time as BTC is so high in value right now and my open ended contract may become nul and void if it becomes non-profitable for them to keep mining BTC.
My bro is helping me invest my money in some really cool stuff, mostly low risk and a small amount in high risk. Again most of it I don’t really understand, but he tries his best to teach me which I am grateful for.
And finally to Steemit! Well, I have had so much fun with Steemit! I have met some fantastic like minded people. There is so much creativity on here that it is hard not to be inspired to do something new on a daily basis...and then write about it of course! Haha And the best bit, I have made money, from nothing! Well no, not from nothing but from being myself, expressing my thoughts and experiences. People have then valued those words that I wrote and I am forever grateful! I also love to vote for other people who have shown me their value and creativity. There’s nothing better than thanking someone for inspiring you with their words or talents.
From a monetary point of view, I can honestly say that I have made more money on Steemit than from any of my other ventures in the crypto world. I have probably had to put more time and effort into earning that money, but i have enjoyed doing it and If I hadn’t earned anything, then I would still have enjoyed the process of developing myself and sharing my experiences.

So thank you Steemit for helping me to move into the world of Cryptocurrency in a way that I can understand!
