Whaleshares Bounty: Twitter Raids and Disenchanted Journalists

Problem: Increased censorship of specific political ideology content on numerous social media platforms, particularly monetized content.

Opportunity: Steemit provides a censorship-resistant platform on which any writer or journalist can put whatever ideas forward to the open market of ideas and receive compensation directly based not only on the quality of their work, but also their reputation on the platform.

Goal: Recruit journalists to make a verified introduction post on Steemit to grow and spread the reach of the platform.

Rewards:

• 300 Whaleshares: "Verified" Twitter account (blue checkmark)

• 200 Whaleshares: Current or former journalist of well-known** publications

• 100 Whaleshares: Twitter account with >10,000 Followers AND following < 9,000

• 50 Whaleshares: Twitter account with >5,000 Followers AND following < 4,500

• 25 Whaleshares: Twitter account with >2,500 Followers AND following < 2,000

• What is Whaleshares? A token within the Bitshares ecosystem that allows for variable upvotes of specified Steemit posts. 100 Whaleshares = 100% upvote from Hive account@officialfuzzy account (approx. $40 as of 8/2/17)

Desired End-State: This is a strategic raid on Twitter and their market share. My hope is to demonstrate the value proposition of Steemit vs Twitter, particularly where censorship (covert or overt) and rewards are concerned.

Rules:

• New user must create an account, write an introduction post AND tweet the introductory post.
• New user must indicate in the introductory post which existing Steemit user introduced them and convinced them to sign up
• Introductory post MUST INCLUDE "introduceyourself" tag AND "whalebounty" tag
• Twitter account follower/following count based on timestamp of introductory post to determine reward
• **"well-known publications" to mean any publication with an established brand and name recognition; subjective decision will be made by Hive account@blakemiles84 or Hive account@fuzzyvest or Hive account@kerp14
• Any subjective decisions of rewards or unforeseen events will be made by Hive account@blakemiles84
• No limit to amount of referral rewards to existing users
• Bonus: +20% Whaleshares of state reward if new user includes selfie photo with following items visible on hand-written paper: "Steemit", new user account name, date

This is an opportunity to bring more attention to Steemit and demonstrate what the future of incentivized journalism SHOULD look like. It's also a great opportunity to demonstrate that platform censorship is corrosive to the concept of free speech, individual liberty, and personal opinion.
