Just yesterday I saw a post by whom I had been part of the first session of #dolphinschool with. She was celebrating the fact that she had just reached 500 users.
I left her a comment with congratulations and mentioned the fact that I was close, but not quite there. Today when I woke up and logged in to Steemit I found that I had finally reached that milestone myself!
Thank you
I'd like to send out a great big thank you to all of you that have supported me over my past 3 months on Steemit. This has certainly been a learning experience for me and something that has definitely taken me out of my comfort zone.
I have never really considered myself a creative person. As a literature major in college for a short time though, writing has been something that has always intrigued me.
I am so blessed that I have been able to use Steemit as an outlet for exploring that curiosity.
My hope is that my faithful followers have seen an evolution over the past months in the quality and content of my writing. Steemit is a big deal, and posting content to it is a big responsibility.
With the increase of all things blockchain these days, I feel Steemit will be the template of how all other social media platforms are built on the blockchain.
Recognition where it is due...
I would be remiss if I didn't first mention . My wife's cousin is the reason I am here. He introduced me to Steemit and got me on the platform through
. As a relative newbie, he is my blockchain hero and I frequently bug him with questions.
Secondly, I need to give a shout-out to and
. I know I wouldn't be anywhere near having 500 followers without them. As a newer user of the system, I was struggling to find my place. I was putting out a lot of content that I thought would get me upvotes as opposed to content that was quality.
I was going to say I was putting out content I wasn't passionate about, but that isn't true. I was very passionate about it, but I wasn't putting the thought and time into developing it. The #dolphinschool that ran helped me learn how to find and engage new followers. One of his lessons also brought about my longest running and most viewed series: Unlocking the Power of Chrome.
Additional thanks to who was a welcome user from my home state when I first started. She helped me get my feet under me and on my way to creating content. I'd also like to thank
,
, and
/
for their continued support.
Finally, I need to mention . They have been a wealth of information and I have become an active member of the
group. They have an active Discord channel with a growing curation trail and lots of good stuff going on. You should check them out if you get the chance.
