What’s going on Steemers! Very excited about this post because I love shedding light on topics that are known, but are not treasured, especially when it comes to growing this amazing platform Steemit and expanding the great community that follows with it!
I know that Steemit is is most popular in the United States when compared to anywhere else in this world, but everywhere but the United States is the most important for mass adoption. See we’re not alone here and we only make up a very very small part of the world as a whole. Other countries that have access to Steemit are the ones we want to be pushing and helping them understand that not only can they be a part of a huge community, but can get paid at the same time.
Currently and obviously the United States has the majority of visitors at 40.3% while South Africa has 0.5%. Now as of 2018 the United States has a population of 326,766,748 people and South Africa has 57,398,421. Imagine if South Africa visitors on a Steemit went from just 0.5% to 5%? The amount of users on a Steemit would make 500k users look like nothing. And I’m using South Africa as an example just because they have the smallest amount of use in Steemit currently. If you consider all the other countries involved as of now (expanding their users) our Steemit community would be in the millions and the price of a Steem would be MASSIVE. Here are 3 images of current populations and users of Steemit.
If you do the math and predictions, the outcome is enormous. Another perspective is these other countries, especially 3rd world countries or just countries less fortunate that don’t make as much money as the average American citizen, is getting paid 1 Steem/SBD in another country is way more valuable than it is in the United States. An alarming example is 1 USD is worth a whopping 12.5 South African Rand (South Africa’s currency). So with Steem being worth around 3.50 right now, 1 Steem in South Africa would be worth almost 40 South African Rands! Over there they can do way more than we can with that money, being the USD is worthless with the prices of everyday living we deal with and taxes and every other depressing regulation in the United States.
So Steemers what I am saying is we have to expand, in any way possible. We both need and want them to grow with us so we can put Facebook out of business. Other languages on Steemit need to be more poplular, other countries need to be more aware of this platform as well as the amazing community that comes with it. Thank you for reading.
