We are finally on the last steps of this incredibly successful writing contest.
All seven #bycolemanjudges have now turned in their final scores and we have started the final process of tabulating and building the worksheet in preparation for the announcement of all winners tomorrow, 3/20/18 (baring any unforeseen difficulties) by day's end. Please stay tuned to this post for the final winners announcement!!
For more information on this contest please see the initial post part 1, part 2 and part 3.
The payout will be as follows for this first contest.
The final count of accepted and judged submissions stands at 140!
$50 SBD to the 1st place winner.
$20 SBD to the 2nd and 3rd place winners.
For every 10 entries starting at 30 entries, we have added another winner's slot for $5 SBD.
30 entries = 4th place winning slot for $5 SBD
40 entries = 5th place winning slot for $5 SBD
...
So, 140 entries = 15th place winner's slot for $5 SBD.
Total prize fund = 50 + 20 + 20 + (12 x 5) = 150 SBD!!
Two honorable mentions will be given.
Once we announce all winners, we will be opening up a 48 hour window to allow judges or contestants to submit any statements and/or objections that we should consider before finalizing the results.
Once the 48 hour window has passed, no further objections or change requests will be considered and the contest and winners will have been finalized. All prize funds will be distributed immediately thereafter.
Thank you all for helping make this first contest such a grand event!
Thank you everyone for your patience, this has really been a massive undertaking and we want to ensure we are doing everything correctly to honor the great talent that has been displayed by our authors.
Remember to support the seven judges, these fine folks have worked tirelessly to make this contest a reality.
Notice to Judges: Thank you!! Please send me the total number of submissions you evaluated so I can send your much deserved SBD. Please use either a non-secure memo or simply reply below.
Yes, we have TOTALS!
Remember, there is a 48 hour window to contest these calculations, so these winners are not yet finalized.
The full spreadsheet used to determine these winners can be downloaded here. This spreadsheet has 3 tabs, winners, all ranking and the raw scores received from all judges.
Both judges and contestants are very much encouraged to review these calculations and let us know immediately if you see any dependencies.
I will posting an image of each judges secure memo's that I received which was used to relay the judges scores. Everyone is also encouraged to review these images and compare them to the final spreadsheet to ensure there are no discrepancies.
A preliminary congratulations to the winners and of course to everyone that has participated and again our judges for this monumental achievement.
Note to Judges: Once the 48 hour window has closed, I encourage each of you to create a post on your insights, thoughts, review process and anything else you have found of interest in this contest, I will gladly resteem each.
I will be creating a post also that will focus on this contest, but also upcoming tools to make a future contest SO much easier, including a submission link directly to one of my servers to eliminate the requirement to search the reply list for valid submissions. Your thoughts on this will be very welcome at that time.
We have learned a lot and there is so much more to come.
