Steemians,
I feel like I am bombarding this site today with posts, but my head at the moment is crammed full of information.
So for the last month in Bulgaria, the weather is in the 30's; currently the high 30's and every day I sweat like mad. Even now in the evening its red hot in the house the fans are going 24/7 and before someone comments no I don't have aircon because its an old house being renovated.
So im sitting wiping the sweat from my double chin, and remembered that a friend complimented me the other day saying I looked like I lost weight.
Before I left the UK I was seventeen stone, thats 238 llbs to our american friends.
I was fat but thats because I ate a lot of take away because I could not be bothered to cook some weeks and take away was an easy option.
Now in Bulgaria I don't have Just Eat, so I am forced to cook, but now I cook for the better, salads, vegetables, white meat and fish. Along side that I drink way more water than I did before because its cheaper than pop, and when its this hot thats an awful lot of pop you are buying.
So I wondered if I could lose weight by sweating?
After a search I found a site called #Livestrong which explains the following information.
What is sweat?
It is quite basically the body's cooling system, if your bodies internal temperature is too high for too long that is potentially dangerous. Your body will start to produce sweat through tiny pores, which slightly cools it down, this will be continuous until it reaches its normal temperature.
Warning
We should all know this buy now but excessive sweating is also causing your body to dehydrate meaning it does not have enough fluids, if you are not sure if your dehydrated next time you go to the bathroom check your urine colour. If it is fully clear then you are fully hydrated, but if it is deep orange then you really ought to get some liquids in you because your body needs it to function properly.
OK.....OK But do you lose weight??
Yes you do but only short term because the weight you lose through sweating alone is water weight but not fat weight, and of course liquid has a density to it which will cause some weight loss, but as soon as you get fluids back in you, then you will put the weight back on.
The only way to achieve weight loss is by excersise to help burn fat although a sweat session along side will show additional weight loss. if your like me, can't stand the site of a Gym then what I find easiest is don't take the car to the local shop just walk, or even better get a bike.
Every day I find I go to the shop here which is a fifteen minute walk there and back and all I do is walk enough to get my heart rate up, by the time I get back home though like today in 36C I am a quivering wreck, but I had a good work out.
So in conclusion yes you can lose weight through sweating but it is only temporary.
I hope you found this of some interest guys, do we have anyone here who is losing weight or lost weight? What are you doing or how did you do it???
Excuse me i'm all sticky its so warm in here shower time.
