Yesterday was a day where I didn't want to step foot out side it was so bleak with fog, no sign of blue sky. There was an eerie silence outside, the snow can do that cushion the sound so that you cannot hear anything. (Pretty sure its something scientific infact.)
So yesterday I posted up about a project that I did last year, I brought an old wood stove back to life again. You can read more about the post here.
It was interesting later in the evening that I got to find out about the stove's true nature. I might have called it russian but it was infact made in bulgaria, they were popular in the 1940's when they were made. And they used the art style of the 1920's in their design feature, I could not find a year of manufacture when I was doing the work on it.
Here is what a russian stove actually looks like.
As you can see the stove is a lot bigger, I have seen photos of these stoves actually being surrounded and ceramic tiles also, which radiate the heat better. The reason why the stoves are bigger, is because the buildings are bigger so they needed larger sources of heat, but made to be beautiful no doubt like its architecture.
Plans for today.
Today is St Theodore's day in bulgaria, which is a celebration involving horses, after speaking to a friend last about Steemit. She kindly gave me some information to look up on. In short this day will be a celebration of decorating horses with ribbons and beads, while the women bake bread and mushroom soup at home.
As it is lent no meat will be eaten during this time. Sad to say that the celebrations have been put off as there is too much snow right now. And no one can say when the celebrations will commence.
Never the less this gives me good reason to research, and post up an appropriate article about this unknown holiday in Bulgaria.
I also have a few other projects to work on, I wanted to start looking at podcasting I have an idea, it may be of benefit it may not be, but I think I would enjoy doing it even if no one else wanted to hear it.
So I wanted to research Jingles and sound effects. was kind enough to forward a link to a post that he had made, giving some really useful tips on where to get soundbytes that I could reuse if I wanted to create a jingle.
I tried to upload a .wav file before on DSound bit it did not like that and told me it needed IPFS settings (did I even get the abbreviation right?)
And the best thing of all today, we finally found a place that does chinese food. So later we brave the weather to head into town before the snow hits again, just for the pure pleasure of not having to cook for a day.
Now you must excuse me while I go tend to the fire and put the kettle on.
Have an amazing day.
