Yes, as content is already produced and will exist forever. So there is always a reason to have steemit or go on steemit if you are looking for Crypto / Blockchain related news.
Even if you want to start your own blog - why not on Steemit? There is already a Community and you can share the link as usual with your friends and family.

But for sure it would be way better if the Community will grow.
The decreasing number in Accounts are related to the burst of the crypto bubble this year. People thought it's a great way to earn some easy bucks and realize that it isn't.
