I have been a member here for a few weeks now, and I am really excited about Steemit. Social media is one of my favorite things and combining it with my other favorite thing, Crypto, is a powerful cocktail. I can’t resist it. I’m eagerly waiting for more features to be rolled out as Steemit grows and it got me thinking about social media achievement systems on other platforms.
I am a Reddit refugee. I still call home from time to time but I’m not going back because Reddit is not Reddit anymore. One thing users enjoyed on that platform was an award or badge system for user milestones. A user could be awarded a badge for anything from a membership anniversary to having the best rated comment of the day. Those types of user engagements would be a great addition to the platform because no matter if its badges or likes, it keeps people coming back. I realize that the Steemit platforms is already reward based but it might be helpful for transitioning users who are new to the crypto community.
Steemit could award users on their profile ‘Comment of the Day’, ‘Best Submission’, ‘Biggest Payout’, ‘Most upvotes’, ‘Attracting a Whale’ ‘Best Curator‘or any number of other community tasks or interactions.
