Today as I was watching a consultation segment where a person was talking about cryptocurrency and I heard that my preacher cited about its volatility and that it has no backing of gold or whatever, and that it is not centralized, and that if you buy Bitcoin and the price fell which happened recently then you lose money.
Then he cited some scriptures regarding love of money and greed. Well I don't know about being greedy but we see it really in crypto world but what about in the markets like the stock market? I guess he is right at some points because sometimes in the crypto world we buy a coin and then sell it for a huge percentage and that is where greed is seen and felt like what happened recently where big players cashed out and left the late buyers sell at a loss.
I just like our church really to make use of a cryptocurrency. A few years back they were robbed by policemen and seized their money which was donated by members for use in the propagation of the word of God and to fund their religious and social work for members and other people. Had they used cryptocurrency I bet the police won't even find a single cent if the money is in their hardware wallet or online account.
Of course donation will be much easier for members if we use cryptocurrency because they can just scan the official bar codes or BTC address or whatever and the money will go straight to the owner of the account fast and easy. Plus if the members would learn how to trade cryptocurrency or just blog at steemit they will find a good source of money to help the church in its word of God preaching and its world wide social work among others and all will be happy because members will have no more problem about donating money and the church will also get money more easily for their purposes like free education, medical missions, emergency helo service, etc.
I think that our church position in cryptocurrency is not really that permanent and maybe as time goes by they will learn more about it because at this instance they just compare it to MLM or pyramid schemes which I think is funny. But they do not ban members from using it especially if a member like me knows some things about its wise use and how to use it without violating some of what the bible teaches like avoiding being greedy.
