authors making post and engaging on other authors post is how the steemit community is sustained and the more post made and engagements on those post is how we know the steemit community is growing. As we all know, here you can reward an author of a post in three ways, with an UPVOTE, RESTEEM AND FOLLOW. Lets say you are surfing through various steemit post and you find a post that gets your attention, you open it up and after reading through the post you like it and you want to appreciate the author, you can do one or two or all of these three things:
1. Upvote the post
2. Resteem the post
3. Follow the post author
imagine in this case a whale like Hive account@abit or Hive account@thejohalfilesHive account@hendrikdegrote is browsing through various post on steemit and picks interest on a good post you made and drops a comment on the post asking you to choose just one of those three things for him to do, which would it be for you. The purpose of this post is to try and determine which of the three would give the most value to an author.
UPVOTE
This would seem to be the obvious choice. If the upvote is at full percentage it would be in the range of $1000 to $2000, wow! That would be something, wouldn’t it? And a bird in hand they say is worth more than a 100 more in the bush. Ok lets lets say choose the upvote then and its worth $1500, that becomes a onetime reward , that’s fine and that’s it.
RESTEEM
A resteem’s worth is in the number of active followers the user resteeming a post has and the worth of these followers steem powers, its possible for a user to have steem power that is next to nothing but have followers with considerable steem powers. Ok so you choose a resteem, the outcome here is not guaranteed but I think it has a higher probability of contributing more than $1500 to that post, here is why, a whale is bound to have a lot of followers with substantial upvote worth and if the post is really good its possible to get more resteems for it and that means more views and more views would most certainly translate to more upvotes that probably would be worth more than that whales upvote.
FOLLOW
the value of a follow in is the fact that all of an authors blog post appears on the feed of all his followers . what I wouldn’t give for a whales follow, that’s literally like money following you. So in this case if you get to choose a follow, you probably will get more than a one time upvote overtime and that surely will amount to more in the long run.
If I was fortunate to get in this situation and was asked to choose, like oliver twist I would ask for all three of them just like am asking of you guys now( smiley)
