I’ve seen a number of article/comments on SteemIt, and other social media channels, asking for money. These include giving sad stories about somebody in the family needing medical attention or losing everything because of a natural disaster.
I would be interested in hearing what people think about such postings.
Do people just shut themselves off and go to the next article?
Do they automatically believe what the poster is writing?
Do they actually pay the writer something?
Is it right that people should try to single themselves out for help in such a way?
My most important question is, would you ask for money on social media if you found yourself in a desperate situation? What if it was, say, the only way to help a family member?
I would find it very difficult to directly ask for money. I notice that even ordinary posters sometimes include their bitcoin addresses in their texts, effectively asking for a donation. Can you imagine how it would be if everybody did it?
