Why is this so important?
Unlikely other websites like Reddit, Steemit relays much more on your follower base. You might be creating awesome content but if nobody sees it - you are non existent. Think of Steemit as it is more like Twitter than Reddit.
Although I started only 4 days ago I'm starting to crack the code:
How to get more people to follow you:
- Create a content which is worth subscribing (recurring).
- Comment on stuff that you relate to.
- Engage with top posters and trending posts.
- Invite new people to Steemit and ask them to follow you.
- Join steemit groups and chat rooms like postpromotion.
- At the end of each post include your BIO section with reminder to upvote, resteem and follow you.
- Interact with your followers:
- upvote new posts in your feed
- comment on them
