Another example of how things seem contradictory on STEEMit

This morning, I quickly published an article on the partnership between Ripple and MoneyGram.
Sure, it wasn't the most catchy title, but I did post it just minutes after the announcement hit Twitter. Now, there are probably dozens if not 100s of the same article information in the New feed of several tags. It is what is expected on STEEMit. News items get posted again and again by different STEEMians. Even if it isn't huge news, you will probably see an article posted by several people. I muted a couple of accounts this morning that shared the same image and title, but that's a whole other issue on STEEMit.
Anyway, while my article wasn't the longest and I only briefly touched on the details of the partnership, I did get a few eyeballs on it, including a few people who were new to comment on my articles. I was very appreciative of the small attention.
.
Since I was seeing other articles on the same topic, which weren't getting much attention, I decided to click on one that got a lot of attention.
I mean, wow! Only 1 tag and it got 52 votes. I'm sure it was filled full of information?
Nope. Not so much. Now, unlike the previous Life Isn't Fair and Neither is STEEMit, the author of this article didn't use a vote buy in order to get high rewards. Well, at least not directly, as far as I can tell.
No, it would seem that he's got the best whale friends eva! Because they enjoy upvoting his articles with little 10% touches that give him about $15 per article. And, as you can tell, they don't even have to read the article to know that it is worth the upvote, because views are much lower than actual upvotes.
Again, I don't hate the author for making these connections with the whales. Good for him.
What annoys me about the upvotes is one of the upvoters in particular.
Why does his upvote on this article annoy me so much? Well, because there is an article that person wrote about providing good and original content on STEEMit to help the community and not double dipping on the content.
I actually agree that people should try to provide good and original content on STEEMit. So, when someone writes a long article about it and then upvotes articles that are just images and a few sentences, it seems like they are trying to play both sides of the coin. And when that person is also associated with this image...

Well...well...nobody likes that little fella, when he shows up.
Nope.
Nobody likes a bot that can't recognize a quote. Nobody likes a bot that links to your own articles that you link to in your article. Nobody likes a bot that shows up and makes a "friendly" comment, but makes you feel like you've been downvoted for no reason at all.
So, excuse me if I feel a little angst towards the upvote of another article by someone who supposedly is trying to improve STEEMit by enforcing good and original work.
Lead by example. Don't blindly upvote posts.
