Four years ago I was blessed with the chance to go to the city that never sleeps. I am lucky I was able to get a few of pictures from the trip that I posted on Instagram.
When I got home a month or so later, I decided to go swimming one morning. I walked smooth into the pool with my HTC one in my pocket like an idiot. All of my photos..GONE!! like every other phone in my life. I have so many memories that I've lost from broken or lost phones. It's a shame.
I didn't get a laptop until I was a sophomore in college, so I never had a decent way to store and backup all of my devices. I digress...
The trip was awesome. It was a bit overwhelming. Coming from Texas, where everything is flat and spread out, was a bit of a culture shock.
When you're in Texas you typically drive to a location, get out of your car, and walk up to the establishment. In New York...the buildings are so tall and everything is so connected, you could walk into a McDonalds that has 25 stories of people living on top of it. Absolutely wild to me.
Las Vegas had a similar effect on me, but the tall building were further spread out.
