It seems like there is long way to go for Steem based on the figures to date in order to compete with twitter. At this time, it remains unclear if Twitter & Steem will compete against each other in future years or will co-exist, but Steem need to overcome a lot of challenges like scalability, additional features & maintainability in order to remain in competition with twitter & facebook.
