Almost 3 months on Steemit & Dtube Update - 2350 Followers! Lessons I've learned from Building Communities [DTube Exclusive]

Here are my talking notes:

Key Lessons I’ve learned along the way

1. Not quite there yet, but closing in on one month
2. Thank you to DTube because let’s face it, without them, I probably would not even be on steemit
3. I’m a video creator and DTube has given me an opportunity to do that
4. About 99% of all my post on steemit have been on dtube
5. 2350 followers from all of our channels as a family (including sounds)
6. I’ve now started doing contest and giving some SBD away to people - doing this on a weekly basis now. This week I’ve done it twice already
7. We are putting together an actual DTube Empowerment Event where we will empower people in video creation! More details to come, but it’ll happen in Toronto, Canada - Sept 2018
8. Onelove has close to 400 members and SE has close to 100 members already and we haven’t even opened it up to the public yet. Thanks to all those involved in these communities that have helped out so much.
9. Lessons I’ve learned founding now 2 communities on the blockchain
   1. Take time to get to know people
      1. This is still online. You may think you know someone from watching their videos, but you don’t really until their tested.
   2. Give grace to others and yourself
      1. People will make mistakes, you will make mistakes, but the key is to forgive and forget. Now if they keep making those mistakes over and over again, then it’s time to move on.
   3. Surround yourself with grateful people
      1. Gratitude is contagious - so is entitlement - if you surround yourself with entitled people you will also be entitled.
      2. If you surround yourself with grateful people, you will also be grateful
   4. Work hard. One of the first videos I ever posted on dtube talked about working hard. And at the time, I was just another video creator. I preached work hard and now, often times people will comment on my work ethic or hard work in pumping out video after video after video with consistent quality. I’m not the best at it. I’m not the most handsome. I’m not the most eloquent. I’m not the best editor. But I work hard and I believe that the results will follow. Be passionate at what you do. Be grateful. Be thankful and be positive and stay positive.
